Literature Text

“What of love?” The briared heart exclaimed,
Broken and beaten, bloodied and maimed.
Love is for young ones and fairy tales,
Not for the warriors, the drinker of ales.
What use is something that cannot be tamed?
Or the finger to point at those to be blamed?
And what of the sorrow for when it fails?
The poor fools lost to their woeful wails.
Blinded by something, so gilded and famed,
Even now, its luster has not waned.
For love is the wind that unfurls the sails,
And sets us off down uncharted trails.
“But, what of love?” The heart proclaimed,
Some things are just not meant to be tamed.
